Lovina Beach

Lovina beach,  is located at the north coast of Bali. It is officially located in Kalibukbuk village, covering some countrysides as Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, and Anturan. The beaches are characterized by its calm sea water and dark colored sand, which is also known as volcanic sand. It has beautiful under water creatures, and is the home of dolphins. Unfortunately, due to its distance from the main tourist attractions at the south of Bali, approximately 3.5 hours’ drive from Kuta, not many tourists have reached Lovina and enjoyed its nature.

Last time I came to Lovina in January 2016, I enjoyed very much of watching a group of dolphins in their habitat. I spent only Rp.150.000, – (US 12) each, for a group of 4-5 people. The local fisherman took me and my friends, to go around the ocean by boat. I could watch and observed how dolphins were interacting among each other. At one of good spots, the boat parked to allow us for snorkeling. Being able to see so many kinds of beautiful fishes under the water has reminded me about the wonderful of Bali. It also reminded me to contribute on any ways to preserve the nature.

The Local Cuisine

After spending about 3 (three) hours on the ocean, having local cuisine was another best thing I could have during my exploration time in Lovina. Despite the availability of many restaurants nearby the beach, I chose to drive about another 10 (ten) minutes to go to Cozy Resto at Jalan Pura Penimbangan, Lovina. At this place, I spent about Rp.200.000,- (USD 15) for a package of local cuisine worth for 5 persons. I could enjoy a package comprises of grilled seafood, fish soup, mixed rice, Balinese spicy chicken, and Balinese spicy satay.
